The City of Falls Church, Virginia and mobileFOUNDATIONS, Inc., a leader in mission-critical wireless monitoring and alert notification systems, have contracted for mobileFOUNDATIONS to provide the City with mobileFOUNDATIONS' IncidentPortalŪ software, a homeland security tool that will provide the City with complete wireless data interoperability across all City functions and organizations, allowing City personnel to collaborate and work together during an emergency. IncidentPortal will be the City's foundation for its "Model Municipality" program, in which all of the City's critical infrastructure will be tied into IncidentPortal. According to mobileFOUNDATIONS, an example of how the IncidentPortal software will be used is automated monitoring of the City's water system.

"We are excited to be partnering with the City of Falls Church on such an ambitious and important project," said Jeffrey Fox, President and CEO of mobileFOUNDATIONS. "This effort will place the City in the forefront of the application of advanced technologies for Homeland Security. The City of Falls Church has the vision that will enable it to be a model for other municipalities. This project with the City will be a great opportunity for mobileFOUNDATIONS to transfer and deploy technologies it has built for the US Air Force and NASA. Partnering with our hometown makes this even more rewarding."

Further, according to Fox, "Protecting critical infrastructure is a key component of any municipality's homeland security efforts and IncidentPortal is a natural fit for this program because of its ability to exchange information with other software systems via open standards, like XML."

Dan McKeever, City Manager for the City of Falls Church, released the following statement following the signing of the contract between the City and mobileFOUNDATIONS: "The City of Falls Church is excited to be joining with mobileFOUNDATIONS in a communications interoperability project that will aid the City in better managing public emergencies, and may serve as a model for the region."
